College of Social Sciences, Pusan National University
We are the leader in the 21st century! And we are the College of Social Sciences, inheriting the spirit of "Moonchang", an honorable scholar in Joseon Dynasty.
We are here to educate our brilliant young students to be qualified leaders who will play a key role in the prosperity of the entire human race as well as that of individuals, groups and the nation. Our educational priorities include encouraging our students to develop the perspective and ability to cope with social environment rationally and actively after investigating all aspects of social phenomena.
We also try to balance their knowledge based on theories and that based on from experimentation by providing systematic teaching and research assignments in socio-scientific approach.
In particular, in order to ensure our in-depth research capabilities and competitiveness in social sciences, we have recently integrated all of the research institutes in the social sciences within the university into the newly established Institute for Social Science Research. The institute promotes both field-specific research activities and interdisciplinary research work through collaboration among the related fields.
The College of Social Sciences currently consists of seven departments: the Department of Public Administration; the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy; the Department of Social Welfare; the Department of Sociology; the Department of Psychology; the Department of Library, Archives, and Information Studies; and the Department of Communication.
