Features of Department
The UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Right in December 10, 1948. This declaration made clear that all human beings are born free without distinction according to race, color, sex, language, religion, political view, property, birth or other status, and they should be equal in their dignity and rights. Social Welfare is a practical science pursuing social integration from the human rights perspectives that guarantee the rights of education, health, and housing for the realization of social justice. Human rights-based social workers dedicate themselves to the realization of a welfare society by ensuring the human right to live, relieving poverty, promoting social equality, eliminating social exclusion, promoting social integration, strengthening social security, and developing individual independence. Department of Social Welfare, Pusan National University strives to cultivate social workers who put their value on human rights.
