Career after Graduation
The Department of Library, Archive, and Information Studies at Pusan National University has produced many outstanding graduates to satisfy the information society’s requirements of information experts, and the graduates are now playing an important role in various actual fields of information service. All the graduates from our undergraduate program get the Certificate of 2nd Grade Professional Librarian and a large number of them enter a diverse range of libraries all over the country, such as public libraries, academic libraries, school libraries, special libraries, the National Library of Korea, the National Assembly Library of Korea, and the Supreme Court Library of Korea. Also, an increasing number of our graduates have been going into special information centers, such as a reference room of the press, banks and enterprises, and research laboratories. Recently, the number of our graduates who entered many kinds of IT companies, working in information consulting and making information systems, has been increasing gradually as well. Graduates who completed the teacher training course can work in the libraries of elementary and secondary schools as a teacher librarian. In addition, students who have their heart set on learning may go up to either the graduate school of our school or the Master’s and Doctoral programs of domestic and foreign prestigious universities. There are also many graduates who are taking an active part in various other areas in our society.
